Hi, I’m Sarah. The woman behind Catella Cavaliers and Cavapoos. We are a small in home breeder. We breed King Charles Cavaliers and Cavapoos. I love my job! If you can call it that. A puppy brings so much joy, energy, and excitement to a home. A grown dog brings companionship, loyalty and happiness; and we are here for all of it. I have 3 children at home and one serving our country in the Space Force. My children are a big help in raising little puppies, and provide lots of cuddles and socialization. They love to help in all the processes and stages; including naming the puppies, being a helping hand during whelping, assistant photographers, puppy play time supervisors, and socialization coordinators. What would I do without them! We are small but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Our dogs live with us in the house, and so do the puppies. They receive 24 hour attention. From pregnancy to their trip home; we strive for the highest quality care of our moms and puppies. We use Puppy Culture and all the latest best practices for raising socially, physically, and emotionally healthy pups. We know these puppies will be your best friend for years to come and we want to do everything in our power to ensure a happy well adjusted pet. Please see our “First 8 Weeks” tab to see how we achieve this each week.
At Catella we test all of our dogs to make sure they are in ideal health for breeding. We do DNA testing to make sure they do not carry any genes that cause diseases common to these breeds. Second, we follow the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) guidelines and test breed specific issues such as heart, hips and patella. Thirdly, all of our dogs have their eyes checked to make sure they are free from inherited eye diseases. We also believe the goal of breeding should always be for the optimal health of the animal. We do not breed to achieve trendy features which will cause the dog medical issues down the line and cost the consumer thousands in vet expenses.
Why we do
what we do
A few years ago, I was in the market for a Cavapoo. I searched for a reputable breeder and found a few, but was astonished at the year long waitlists. I realized that the modern puppy lover has high standards. They want a dog that is cared for, and loved and not from a puppy mill. It became my goal to provide high quality pups to the discerning client.

Why Cavaliers and Cavapoos
I remember when I met my first King Charles Cavalier. It was around 2015, and my friend drove up with the cutest dog in the back seat of her car. She was telling me how much she loved her dog, Lily, and I was pretty sure most pet owner say that. It wasn’t until a few weeks later when I was over at her house and got to spend some time with Lily, I realized why she loved her so much. Lily was a Blenheim Cavalier, and she was the most charming, sweetest dog. She was social, well mannered and eager to please and just a delight to have around. After that, I was hooked. I knew a Cavalier would be in my future. One of my sweetest memories was a couple of years later bringing my little Queenie home. My children and I took a road trip to pick her up. We drove a full day to get her. She was the cutest and most delicate little tricolored fur baby. We were in love instantly. Picking up a puppy is just simply one of life’s joyous occasions. I love that I get to be a part of that for the families I serve.
The Cavapoo interested me because it was low shedding and I’ve always respected the poodle for their intelligence and loyalty. Specifically, the Standard Poodle. My teenage son particularly wanted a larger dog, so the Standard Poodle made perfect sense. Cleo is our Standard Poodle; she is a highly emotionally intelligent loyal dog. She is also a great mom. The Cavapoo is growing in popularity and for good reason, they are delightful dogs.
Buying from a reputable breeder: a worthwhile investment
When you buy from a reputable breeder, you are going to pay more for a puppy. The cost of health testing; vet care, including procedures such as cesarean section and artificial insemination; proper nutrition and supplements; quality facilities; puppy enrichment; and finally full time care all contribute to the cost of the puppy. Rest assured, you are getting a quality puppy guaranteed. When buying something that will live with you for possibly 15 years or more, the investment is well worth it.
